Take Up Your Bed and Walk

"Jesus said to him, 'Get up, take up your bed, and walk.' And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked." —John 5:8–9

Healing is not about curing a condition. It’s not about believing something could be missing, wrong, or broken about you that needs correcting. Healing is your courageous realization of the wholeness at the heart of you. It’s your deciding to live well now, regardless of your circumstances.

Join us as we deepen our study of healing and Wholeness with Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett, author of our Fall Program book This Life is Yours, and enjoy uplifting music and loving fellowship.

The Value of Questioning

This Sunday, we continue our study of This Life is Yours, a book about healing your whole Self and discovering the eternal, unbreakable You.  Our focus in Chapter 2 is exploring the value of questioning, and how it leads us to a deeper understanding of healing and inspires us to know our innate Wholeness. We question the mindset of insufficiency and how it permeates our individual consciousness, as well as our culture.  And we consider the longing that goes on within each of us, becoming a “divine urgency” that transforms.

Continue with us on this journey of self-discovery and healing together with uplifting music, and join us after service for our Sunflower Festival, where we’ll enjoy fun activities and make new connections with one another.

The Labor of Our Fruits

Many stories in varied scriptures point to the bearing of fruit as a symbol of spiritual growth, which also shows how many religions and spiritual paths are in agreement as to how we should take care of our spirituality. This Sunday, Jean-Marie will dive into the stories around the bearing of such spiritual fruit, which is often connected with the expectation to put in the work. How can we learn to work smart instead of hard to gain what we seek in our spiritual lives?

Join us this Sunday for another uplifting and meaningful service followed by welcoming fellowship.

Meeting Myrtle Again for the First Time

There are two books published, How to Let God Help You and Healing Letters, that give the world a glimpse into knowing Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity. They include letters she wrote to people that had written to her asking for prayer, as well as a few lessons she taught. Yet, they represent an incomplete picture. There is an enormous amount of Myrtle’s writings that are unpublished, and it is from these that we can meet Myrtle again for the first time, engage with the woman that perhaps we didn’t know as well as we thought we did.

Join Rev. Kelly Isola and meet Myrtle again for the "first time." It will surely be a lively and thought-provoking time together.

Join us, for another Sunday of uplift and affirmation, filled with buzzing energy, and a delicious potluck after service. You do not want to miss this.

Ritualizing Grief

The Hebrew date of the 9th of Av (Sunday, July 18th this year) is the darkest, saddest day of the calendar in Jewish tradition. Rabbi Siger will explain the roots of this somber holiday, some of the practices observed and how the lessons of this particularly Jewish holy day have universal lessons and applications.

Loss and grief are part of the human condition and can be experienced as individuals or as communities, and often both. Learning how to navigate and confront grief and loss is key to spiritual resiliency and continued growth.

Join us this Sunday as we learn about this important Jewish tradition and how it can influence our own spiritual journey, and enjoy wonderful music and friendly fellowship.
