The success of a ministry can never surpass the collective consciousness of the leadership and congregation.

The simple foundation of this course is that we create separation by seeing people as objects that are obstacles or opportunities to getting what we want, or irrelevant to us. This course is an antidote to all separation and a way to embody our spiritual principles in how we relate to one another in life and in our community.

Our “Turn Your Life (and Your Ministry) Outward” course will
positively impact every relationship you have —
family, friends, work, church, and how you live in the world!

A Bit More

The course is rooted in work by the Arbinger Institute and based on the book, The Outward Mindset: Seeing Beyond Ourselves.

Becoming Outward, or having an outward mindset is the opposite of being self-centered, where we are seeing people as people, rather than objects.

Wait, what?

So many of us don’t see “others” as people, but rather as obstacles preventing us from getting what we want, vehicles or opportunities for getting our way, or we disregard them as irrelevant to our private world.

When this happens, we live in separation. But as we become aware of this often unconscious behavior and learn to truly see others as people, we deepen our spiritual awareness, strengthen our community, and help ourselves discover new ways to do ministry.

What Rev. Aliza personally experienced with these programs was profound, and along with Rev. Mark Hicks and others who are facilitators of these programs, they want to see every Unity ministry adopting these ideas and embracing them in ways that have the potential to transform our movement.

Unity Fort Worth is building ownership, developing leaders in order to become mission-centric over minister-centric. This is a powerful way to bond, have a shared experience, and new language, as well as a deepening of community connections.
