Rev. Robert Brumet
Rev. Robert Brumet is a teacher, writer and spiritual director. He conducts a variety of retreats, seminars and classes that focus on meditation, self-awareness and spiritual development. Robert has presented his programs at over 150 churches and retreat centers throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Rev. Brumet is the former Chairman of Pastoral Studies at Unity Institute, where he taught courses in pastoral care, spiritual counseling, transpersonal psychology, prayer and meditation from 1989 to 2016. He is the author of four books: the award-winning Finding Yourself in Transition, The Quest for Wholeness, Birthing a Greater Reality and Living Originally, all published by Unity. He has authored over a dozen articles in Unity magazine as well as several Unity pamphlets. His writings, seminars, retreats and radio broadcasts have touched the lives of many thousands of people.
Rev. Brumet is a teacher of Insight Meditation, having received certification from Spirit Rock Meditation Center in 2000. He is also a Spiritual Director, receiving certification from Mt St Scholastica College in 2013. Robert was the 2012 recipient of Unity Worldwide Ministries Light of God Expressing Award for outstanding service to the Unity movement. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Unity Institute and Seminary in 2016.
Robert was ordained a Unity minister in 1980 and has served churches in Indiana and Kansas. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Toledo.
Robert has four children, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
