Healing
Today’s Daily Word is “Healing.”
Denial & Affirmation: My current circumstances have no power over me, and I release any fear and worry around my healing. I affirm Health and Wholeness in body, mind, and soul as I embrace the Perfection of my Being.
Scripture: “…cure the sick who are there, and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near you.” —Luke 10:9
In Jesus’ instructions to the twelve Apostles in the Mission of the Twelve, according to the gospel of Luke (Luke 9–10), he asks them to leave everything behind as they went on their journey to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. They should only stay where they are welcome or otherwise dust off their feet as they leave.
Beyond the literal interpretation of this story we can see a connection between the ability to heal, the understanding of the kingdom of God, and the need to leave everything (as in error thinking) behind. In other words, we must come clean with our thoughts and strip them from any false beliefs, worries, fears, and judgments in order to allow the inherit Health that is perfect in the kingdom of God to come forth.
When we are sick, our focus often lies with the disease and the disease alone. Our attention and that of those close to us is concentrated around what we believe needs healing. Doing that, we may forget that we are more than our bodies. We may also forget that aside from those parts that are affected, the rest of our physique is alive and healthy. When we are able to leave behind our attention on the disease alone and turn it instead toward the kingdom of God (which lies within), we embrace the entirety of our Being of both the physical and spiritual. From that place we affirm perfect Health as in its availability as infinite Potential. We allow Health to be in our Awareness as we surrender to whatever is to happen from moment to moment. This is why Jesus asked the Apostles to leave everything behind. All their possessions but also their perceptions of what healing looks like were surrendered to the Divine within, from which they were able to help those that have forgotten their true Nature.
We must understand that opening our awareness up to our Divinity and perfect Health does not guarantee the physical healing we might expect. The act of healing from perfect Health happens on all levels of being and among all realms of body, mind, and soul. And we may simply not be aware of where and how healing has already taken place. However, coming from the consciousness of perfect Health while seeing it as already fulfilled allows the free flow of whatever needs to happen. We remove any obstacle by surrendering to the kingdom of God that is near and embrace our Being in perfect Harmony.
Maybe today you “dust off your feet” from the unwelcomed thoughts of worries and fears and allow your attention to turn to Health and Wholeness. Myrtle Fillmore was inspired by E. B. Week’s quote “I am a child of God, and therefore I do not inherit sickness.” May you inspired equally.
And so it is. Amen.
