The “Om” hour is a weekly Kirtan or Inspirational Chanting. Led by Kristin & Randall Brooks of the Bhakti House Band. Join us Thursday Evenings at 7:00 pm in Johnson Hall.
Join us for an evening of sacred sound and conscious devotion as we share the spiritual practice of Nada Bhakti Yoga — the Yoga of Sacred Sound and Conscious Devotion. This is MUCH more than a music concert.
Community singing is a very powerful, unifying, and liberating experience, and even more so when chanting ancient Sanskrit mantras. Take this opportunity to express yourself through group singing and dancing in a safe and empowered space with the support of a loving community. Come explore the power and authenticity of your TRUE voice!
No experience necessary. Bring a pillow or blanket if you choose to sit on the floor.
Kirtan is a very simple and powerful way to meditate. Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind if listened to with intention. Everyone experiences kirtan differently, and it doesn’t have to be a religious experience. You can think of it as a sing-along. The wallah (leader) sings the mantra, and the audience sings it back. As you sing with each other you experience a deep connection with the musicians, the other audience members and yourself.
