Dear Unity Friends,

We have reached the month of February! During this month, people will be celebrating an assortment of things: groundhogs, U.S. presidents, and most importantly, love.

There are countless ways that people demonstrate love. There are traditional gifts exchanged such as Valentine’s Day cards, flowers and chocolates. But there are many more subtle ways that people demonstrate love for one and another, and they are going on around us all of the time: Parents hugging their kids before they head off to the school bus; a sweet text message; a random act of kindness from a stranger; an unexpected call from an old friend.

Unity Church tells us that, “In Divine Mind, love is the power that joins and binds in divine harmony the universe and everything in it; the great harmonizing principle known to man. Divine love is impersonal; it loves for the sake of loving. It is not concerned with what or who it loves, nor with a return of love. Like the sun, its joy is in the shining forth of its nature.” The bible tells us that, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” (I Cor. 13:4).

Please center yourself for a moment and say this prayer of love with me:

Father, Mother God,
as we walk through this month in Unity, help me to observe all the ways that love is being expressed by and through people all around me. Help me to love simply for the sake of loving and not concern myself with whether or not it is reciprocated. Through you and for you, I will steadfastly radiate and shine my love out to others.

Namaste,
